Bunk – The official confirmation

Well, stop laughing ! I am in the eighth semester and I am quite sure that all the students in MSRIT have mastered the art of bunking, whereas I haven’t. I used to prefer bunking the whole day instead of bunking a few classes. But after coming to the final semester, this unchecked power to bunk at one’s will, no threatening of attendance shortage is a boon and especially when you have the “good boy” image. Apart from a few important classes, I seem to have no interest for the other classes. Especially when lecturers start showing off their attitude to the seniors! I eventually lost interest in attending one of the classes after the lecturer seemed to think he is the new HOD of the department. Today was more hilarious, the teacher saying that she would take classes if at all any student is there, my friend calls up a few people who are likely to attend the most unusual classes and asks them to bunk them, right in front of the lecturer! The lecturer least perturbed, keeps insisting that she will take classes if at all there is anyone. Well coming to the final semester seems that usage of mobiles are very much allowed and this lenience is most welcomed, but I would have preferred this way back in the first year. Whats the point of attending classes which aren’t problematic anyway? Theory kills, the lecturer even more. Isn’t it high time to stop the spoon feed the students with notes? I got into a minor skirmish with the lecturer when I refused to take down the question bank, he was hell bent on his notes and the question bank. Am I going to read it? I obviously would make my own notes and read, all the lecturer does is copy-paste from the text book. What use is that? Can’t I read the same text book? I haven’t bothered to see him after that, not a big deal, you say, but for a student who has been maintaining 99.99% attendance from the first semester to the seventh, its an achievement having less than 50% in one of the subjects. Well, its hardly a matter of two more days till the classes get officially terminated, these are the last two days you get to bunk, so bunk! The official confirmation was out long back (in the first year itself, for nerds, at least bunk the last two days of your engineering life) !
