By now, you would have come across numerous blogs and news articles taking on the Apple Ipad. And to add to the list of disappointed fans, I stand somewhere in the mid. Apple definitely has its own strategy and reasons for getting the product out with a different perspective than what most of us had in mind. But what if a customer like myself wants to shift to a tablet pc which can be a laptop and not just an accessory! Yes, an accessory! What would I want to see in the apple Ipad, at least during the Apple Ipad retake 1, if at all there is any. Looking at the current reviews, I am pretty sure they will have to do a retake like they did with the apple TV. Coming to the features I would want to see in the Ipad.
- Camera. Yes, the most significant whining you hear from everyone
- Multi tasking. Does this need an introduction?
- Snow Leopard and better use of the home button. Have the same feature what you are currently offering along with the regular Mac! Your Ipad boots up like a regular Mac, works like a Mac and does all the things you do, which you do on a Mac. When you need to switch to the apps mode and use the enlarged Iphone, do it with the click of the home button!
- Built in mini projector!
If the first two doesn’t push to buy an Ipad, doesn’t the last two? Discussing the price range ignoring the mini projector. The average cost of a regular Macbook sits at around $1500, the Ipad could be priced on a similar scale. After all, the chips come from Apple itself (unlike the Macbooks) and with a lot of mechanical parts missing, innovation could have really made use of the space available and made justification to the pricing of the product and the hype.
But you never know, Apple can prove its strategy and go on to dominate like it did with the Ipod. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t be buying the Ipad unless it has what I want as told above.
Cheers
UPDATE:
Just finished understanding the model of the apple Ipad. Its not for me. But definitely has a potential to start a war on a new category. But are people ready for it?
